Travelling from Cambridge Railway Station
Note: The NationalRail website may be useful in planning your journey to Cambridge.
Either walk (15-20 minutes) as follows (Map showing station): Follow Station Road from the railway station to the War Memorial on Hills Road (the first T junction); turn right and follow Hills Road to the Catholic Church (a large blackened stone building on the left) at the corner of Hills Road and Lensfield Road; turn left and follow Lensfield Road to Tennis Court Road (first on the right). Once in Tennis Court Road, The Gurdon Institute is first on the left.
Or take a taxi from outside the station to The Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute on Tennis Court Road (About a five minute ride, depending on traffic. It should cost around £4.)
Travelling by Bicycle
You can plan your cycle journey using the Journey Planner. Use CB2 1QN for the Gurdon Institute address.
Travelling by Car
PARKING - sadly there is no parking available at the Institute, but there are several public car parks within walking distance. The closest is Lion Yard (continue to the end of Tennis Court Road, turn right into Downing Street, and then first left). Map showing Institute & parking sites.
Arriving on the M11 motorway, exit at junction 11 and follow signs into Cambridge. Pass the Waitrose supermarket on the left. Continue on the same road all the way into the city passing through Trumpington (Shell garage on the left), several large private schools on the right, a piece of common land (see map) that often has cattle on the left. Ultimately, arrive at a pair of mini-roundabouts with a large hotel (The Royal Cambridge). Go straight ahead at the first roundabout, then immediately right at the second onto Lensfield road. Turn first left, after about 50 metres, into Tennis Court Road (this is one way!). The Gurdon Institute is the first building on the left.
