The Gurdon Institute

Gurdon Institute Postdocs Association

The Gurdon Institute Post-Doc Association (GIPA) was established in 2008. GIPA organises events throughout the year, this includes a Post-Doc/PhD student retreat, two seminars within the Gurdon Institute seminar series, career path and family and social events.

The aim of GIPA is to encourage scientific and social interactions between Postdocs hosted at the Gurdon Institute. We also run a mentoring scheme for PhD students and Postdocs within the institute. It is intended to provide support on issues such as settling into life in Cambridge and the Institute; career considerations; issues arising within the lab that a person may want to discuss with someone outside their research group; and anything else the mentee wants to talk about.

We serve as Postdoc representatives within the institute and if there is a Post-Doc related problem we serve as a communication link between Postdoc and admin/ the institute-head.
