Research topics at the Gurdon Institute

We focus on several related research topics that cut across both development and disease, with most group leaders working in several areas

We are interested in the processes that transform one fertilised cell into a whole organism, from cell proliferation and fate determination through to organ development and function. Understanding these processes in development and maintenance is complemented by explorations of what goes wrong in diseases such as cancer.

This diagram shows the considerable overlap between research topics in our different labs.
